Resident Resources

Welcome to our Resident Resources page — your go-to hub for important tools, helpful links, and community support designed to enhance your experience living in one of The Housing Foundation’s affordable housing communities in Maine. Whether you’re new to the property or a long-term resident, we’re here to help you access services, stay informed, and thrive.

Key Resources for Residents

As part of our commitment to resident well-being, we provide a variety of resources to support housing stability, healthy living and community engagement.

  • Maintenance & Service Requests: Need a repair, notice a safety issue or have a question about your unit? Submit your request through the resident portal or contact your property’s leasing or maintenance staff. Prompt maintenance helps protect your comfort, safety, and our community standards.

  • Resident Support Services: Our on-site or community-based Residential Coordinator can help you with referrals for job training, transportation, childcare, wellness programs and other supports. We believe in housing + services = better outcomes.

  • Community Handbook & Policies: To maintain a safe, peaceful environment for everyone, our Community Handbook outlines rules about noise, parking, pets, safety, and other important topics. Please review it and keep a printed or digital copy on hand.

  • Payment & Lease Information: Through your online resident portal you can view your lease, check upcoming rent due dates, see your payment history, and set up automatic payments (if available).

  • Events & Engagement: Stay connected! Browse our calendar of resident meetings, workshops, social gatherings and community-building events. Participation helps build strong, supportive neighborhoods.

  • External Links & Supports: We refer residents to trusted external resources in Maine for things like utility assistance, legal help for renters, and housing navigation. For example, the state-wide directory lists legal aid, rental assistance and home energy help. mainehousingsearch.org+1

Safety, Maintenance & Community Quality

Maintaining a well-kept property is a shared responsibility. You play an important role by:

  • Reporting maintenance needs promptly (especially safety issues like lighting, locks, plumbing or exterior concerns).

  • Following community rules (parking, pets, quiet hours) so that your neighbors can enjoy their homes too.

  • Participating in seasonal inspections or preventative maintenance notices — we’ll often notify you ahead of time about things like filter changes, fire-alarm checks or snow/ice safety.

  • Staying aware of your lease terms and communicating with your Residential Coordinator or property manager if you have any concerns or anticipate hardship.

Feedback & How to Reach Us

We value your feedback because it helps us improve. You can share ideas, concerns or suggestions by contacting your Residential Coordinator or leasing office. We may also invite you to complete resident satisfaction surveys — please take a few minutes if you receive one. Your voice matters.
If you have an urgent issue or a serious safety concern after hours, please call the emergency maintenance line provided in your resident handbook or posted in your building. For non-urgent matters, use the online portal or visit the leasing office during business hours.

Getting the Most from Your Home

Your home within The Housing Foundation’s community is more than just a place to live—it’s a stepping stone toward stability, community, and opportunity. Take advantage of the resources available: attend a workshop, connect with your Residential Coordinator, access external supports, or volunteer at a resident event. The stronger the community, the better the experience for everyone.

Thank you for being a valued member of our community. We’re here to support you and make your residence with The Housing Foundation a positive, empowering experience.
